RNG Drawings
The Texas Free Lottery use the Random Number Generator (RNG) system in its drawings. RNG is a newer and simpler successor to the ball draw method.
RNG software uses the power of computing to generate random numbers for lottery draws, ensuring there is no pattern to the numbers selected. More and more lotteries are introducing this modern technology as a next-generation alternative to the older ball draw. If you’ve ever watched numbered balls being blown around in a drum before one is selected, you’ve seen a ball draw in action.
Both methods are equally random and have exactly the same odds of winning. However, RNG is a simpler method with updated security protocols like fingerprint authentication, whereas a ball draw involves weighing balls and locking them up when not in use to guard against tampering.
The RNG technology is widely used by many US state lotteries as well as the Canadian Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).
